PriceWatch ("we", "us", "our") operates pricewatch.ventureiq.ca (the "Service"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: email and encrypted password hash.
• Tracked product data: URLs you paste, your chosen notification email, and price history fetched from publicly accessible pages.
• Notification preferences: frequency and per-store/per-product alert settings.
• Payment data: processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and debugging.

3. How we use it

• To run the Service: check prices on your behalf and email alerts.
• To authenticate you and protect your account.
• To process subscription payments (via Stripe).
• To improve reliability and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers required to operate the Service: our database/hosting provider, Stripe (payments), and our transactional email infrastructure. Each is contractually bound to protect your data.

5. Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete tracked products at any time. To delete your account entirely, email privacy@ventureiq.ca.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including Canada PIPEDA, EU/UK GDPR, and California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at privacy@ventureiq.ca.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in. No third-party analytics or advertising cookies are set.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, row-level security on our database, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
